Germany Bundespolizei

German national police formerly know as Bundesgrenzshutz (German Federal Border Police).
In Germany, most police services are provided on the state level, with each German state having a State Police force, known as Landespolizei. In 2005 the former
Bundesgrenzshutz, who were limited to border and transportation law enforcement were renamed Bundespolizei and took on new responsibilities as a federal police force. Responsibilities of the Bundespolizei include border security, passport control, protection of federal government buildings and embassies, security at airports and railways, air marshals, counter terrorism and mobile response forces, and rescue helicopter service. Older vehicles that were used by the Bundesgrenzshutz were green or green and white, and  carried license plates that began with BG. Some of these vehicles continued to be used when the name of the agency changed. More recent Bundespolizei vehicles are blue and white and have license plates that begin with BP .
