1998-2002 Ford Expedition Special Service Package Introduced for model year 1997 to the retail market, the Expedition was Ford's first full sized, 4 door SUV, and was based on the platform Ford F-150 pickup of the same time period. For police use, a special service package was introduced for 1998. It was available in 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel driver version. Engine choices were a 215 hp 4.6 liter SOHC V8 or a 230 hp 5.4 liter SOHC V8. (1)
