First Judicial District of Pennsylvania Warrant Unit

The First Judicial District is the court system for the city and county of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Warrant Unit enforces laws pertaining to probation, parole, bench warrants, arrest warrants, and judicial body warrants. This unit's job is similar to that of the US Marshals or  local or state court constables. They serve these warrants and hunt wanted criminals in city of Philadelphia and other areas in cooperation with fugitive task forces, US Marshals, FBI and other agencies. Before the Warrant Squad was created in 1970, the Philadelphia Sheriffs department was performing these duties in Philadelphia.
