Princeton Borough, New Jersey Police

The new Princeton Borough was established on Jan 1, 2013 by the merger of the former municipalities of the Borough of Princeton and Princeton Township in Mercer County,  New Jersey. The police departments of the two former municipalities merged on that date to form a new department. The department continued to use vehicles with the markings of the former departments, while new markings were used on vehicles put into service after the merger. Former Princeton Township vehicles had the word "Township" removed but continued to have the old Township door shield on vehicles.
