Royal Palm Beach Florida Police

The Village of Royal Palm Beach Police Department was disbanded in 2007. The village now contracts police seervice out to the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office, District 9.

The Village of Royal Plam Beach was incorporated in 1959, on land that was mostly  former swamp land. A police department was created in 1960 with one full time officer, with several reserve officers. The department grew over the years to a full service police department, as the village deveopled and population grew. In 2007, as cost saving measure, the department was elimated and police service contrated out the the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office.
